Acanthus Jewelry {Fashion Friday a day early}

Tomorrow is a busy day.  So busy that I am featuring these lovelies a day early just to make sure I get them in.

Soft, romantic, high quality and drippy gold.  What more does a bride want? (girls in general really, but I think my brides will love these) I personally am having a hard time returning all the vintage key pieces after this shoot.  LOVE them.

You can buy and view more at www.acanthusjewelry.com  or follow her on Twitter @AcanthusJewelry.

Pretty Organization {it's a must}

As the family grows, so does our stuff.  Papers, pictures, cards everywhere.  And it drives me nuts.  I NEED the papers hidden, I NEED the ugly things not to be seen.  Our third room of three in this house doubles as the guest room and our "office".  That means there is little room for a lot of stuff.  So no file cabinet to store things in.  I like the idea of magazine holders as file holders, but have you seen any cute ones out there?  And the ones that you do find, have you seen the prices?  Like $10 plus each one.  I need four.  I am not paying $40 for magazine holders.  No sir.

Problem: Lots of stuff, no cute stuff holders.

Solution: Make your own.

Here's the breakdown:

You take a few pretty papers

.69 cents each, unless you get the fancy glitter paper cause it makes you smile $1.99 each.
Each file folder needs two pieces of paper.

A few plain boring magazine holders

$1.99 for a pack of 5 from Ikea.  HELLO!

Some handy tools

Already had.  EVERY girl needs her own handy tools. Crafty ones and boy ones.  Starbucks $5.00.

You then sit down and turn on your favorite show and get to work.  Today it was Young and the Restless.

After some glueing, cutting, embellishing and odd looks from your hubbs, you have this:

PRETTY storage for your stuffs.  All for around ten bucks (plus the Starbucks).  Colors that match my room and custom pretty labels.  Notice the first one does not have a complete name, that would be because we do not know what name we are to use.  That all changes FRIDAY!!

I hope you all are having a good week!

Max's Opening Day Pennant Party. {1st Annual}

This weekend we had a little family fun!  Max held his 1st Annual Opening Day Pennant Party and it was a huge hit.

(Even though the Astros were swept in their series. nomatter.)

We had fun anyways.

Daddy grilled up some dogs and we had a little ballpark feast.  Thrown together very last minute, we did not invite anyone, but next year! and when we move home!, it will be quite the yearly event for family and friends.  Max is super excited about it.

Max Wanted to Share. {he told me}

Max brought it to my attention today that he has some new achievements to show everyone and that I have been slacking on the updates.  He says enough with the decorating posts and pretty things posts (he rolled his eyes when he said that one) and get to the good stuff.  MAX!

(He looks way to innocent here doesn't he?)

(There. Much better.)

First, he wanted me to tell you that his 1st Annual Opening Day Pennant Party was supposed to be tonight but it is raining and will now be his 1st Annual Opening Weekend Pennant Party, which is fine with us because the Astros' Opening Day is not until tomorrow anyways and they are our favorite team.  Stay tuned for pictures of his first big event.

Second, he has a TOOFER!!!

Third.  He is a nose scruncher.  I have no idea where this came from but it is quite adorable and he knows it.

(nose scrunching and a toofer?!  I can't even stand it.)

Next he has discovered something down there.

There are some things a mother needs not know, so I left it alone.

Moving on.

He sits up on his own!!  And is clearly proud of it.

("Hey! Still paying attention?!  Good. Almost done.")

And lastly, we are THIS CLOSE to crawling.

Not quite there, he hasn't figured out how to move his arm to get his body going forward.  Soon though. Very soon.

That is all.  Just some accomplishments that this little one wanted to pass along.  He leaves you with a cute picture to remember him by.  Until next time.

Tootles.
